Haj is one of the five tenets of Islam. It’s every Muslim’s desire to perform Haj at least once in his life time. Performing Haj is obligatory to every sane, financially able and adult Muslim. Haj is the fifth pillar of Islam, an obligation that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by every able-bodied Muslim who can afford to do so.
The Hajj is associated with the life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), but the ritual of pilgrimage to Mecca is considered by Muslims to stretch back to the time of Ibrahim and Isma’il, prominent figures in both Islam and in Judaism.
Information for Haj 2014
1. As per instruction of Haj Committee of India, Mumbai. Provisionally selected in Qurrah for Haj 2014. The Cover number and Bank Reference number should be correctly noted on pay in slip and for further correspondence with Haj Committee of India.
2.All provisionally selected pilgrims must pay Rs.81000/- as Advance Haj Amount and Miscellaneous dues in Haj Committee of India’s current account No.’FEE TYPE-25′ maintained with SBI through any branch of SBI having Core Banking System.
3. After depositing the amount of Rs.81000/-, the original international passport, one colour photograph and copy of Pay-in-slip must be submitted to State Haj Committee on or before 15-05-2014. Pilgrims who have already submitted original passport along with HAJ Application Form must submit only pay-in-slip to State Haj Committee by that date.
4. The balance Haj Amount and Air fare to be deposited shall be announced separately. The last date for depositing the balance amount shall be 30-06-2014. If the remittances are not received by 30-06-2014, the Haj seat shall stand CANCELLED.
5. The pilgrims should get inoculated and undergo Orientation and Training at the camps organized by their State / UT Haj Committees.
